A Thought

I came here today to write a post about movies and Christmas, but then I logged into a computer program and a quote of the day popped up.  Something to think about from a very wise and brave man.

"There is no passion to be found playing small -
in settling for a life that is less than the one you are
capable of living."

"We must use time wisely and forever realize that
the time is always ripe to do right."

Oooh Puppy

Look what I have!
Okay so it's not exactly my puppy....but I kind of wish it was.  This little man will belong to my sister's boyfriend and I'm totally jealous.  They wanted a golden doodle and there were some available down the road from us.  But as Dean goes to school in Ohio and his parents are on vacation, they sent Tali and myself to pick out a puppy for them.  I know, I'm surprised that they trusted us too, because the last puppy that we chose turned out to be slightly insane.  We tried to choose a calmer puppy this time instead of the most rambunctious puppy in the litter!
It took everything I had not to take one of these little guys home with me.

This picture is of the little boy and the little girl that we were deciding between.  He was about twice as heavy as she was, he's going to be a big boy!  She seemed a bit too timid so we decided to go with the more masculine doodle so that Dean can feel more manly as he is walking a giant Golden Doodle.
Just look at those faces!  Ryan, I know we said no presents this year, but I'm pretty sure one of these little guys would fit in my stocking!

It's Over

Last night I wrote what could be my last final exam ever.  But I'm not sure that it went well, so maybe it won't be my last exam.  Luckily it takes them two months to mark it, so in a few days I will forget about it until January when the marks actually come out.

Now my back hurts because of being bent over a desk writing for four hours straight.

And I only got 6 hours of sleep last night so I'm guessing at around 11 this morning you might find me curled up in a ball under my desk.

And there was freezing rain last night so I'm not looking forward to my hour commute (which in bad weather can sometimes be more like an hour and a half.)

And my sister shared yesterday's post on Facebook, so now even more real life people know about my blog, and that makes me uncomfortable because I sometimes write more honestly than I speak.  But real lifers make me stop and think about what I'm saying.  Maybe that's a good thing I guess.

So now we have figured out that this Wednesday is a crappy day.  On the bright side, I might go get to see puppies tonight. (And will probably try to talk Ryan into getting a Golden Doodle, and I will probably fail at that.)

How's that post for random.

Here Comes Santa to American Thanksgiving

There is something wrong when the Santa Clause parade is before Thanksgiving.  We were trying to figure out this whole American Thanksgiving thing on the weekend and why it was so late.  I'm not in a Thanksgiving mood, I'm in a Christmas mood!  But that doesn't meant that I will turn down a turkey.

So first things first, we went to the parade on Saturday night.  A bit more snow would have been nice, but it wasn't too cold, so I can't complain.  And Santa was looking good, like usual.

Then, as my sister's boyfriend goes to school in that silly country and was home this week, my mom decided to have a Thanksgiving dinner for him on Sunday.

We look like a normal family from the outside, if only you could hear our dinner conversations.

And then this happened.  My brother currently is working for the Ottawa Senators hockey team, and he told us that he was standing down by the Zamboni doors.  So my family was sure that they saw him on the TV and spent approximately 5 minutes pausing and rewinding and looking for him.

Then he told us he wasn't down there anymore.

What can I say, my family is cool.

Happy Thankstmas.  (Ya I just created a new holiday).
