#epicfail

Last night was the Big Brother Canada finale.  I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Big Brother Canada show.  Usually Canadian shows are brutal, but I thought that they did a great job with this one.  Hey if you can cast 2 showmances and a love triangle, that's like Big Brother gold!

So in the finale we had Gary Glitter and Jillian.  Jillian has played a strong game.  She won 4 HOH titles and her and her showmance Emmett won the last 5 HOH's back to back, which probably helped her get to the end.  But that's the game right?  They made big moves throughout the game and their strategy worked.  She pissed people off though, and boy was the jury mad.

Then there is Gary Glitter.  The guy who came in with a target on his back, mostly because he left glitter everywhere in the house that he went.  Gary was voted out, but Canada voted to bring him back in, when there were 5 people left in the house.  I do know that Big Brother is full of twists, but I feel like bringing someone back that close to the end is giving them a huge advantage.  He also won a veto that kept him in the house, so you could argue that both of them won competitions that kept them there.

So everyone votes.  And then Arissa the host says "And Topaz has voted for Jillian."  Then this happens.

Shocker!  I don't want to be mean, but lets just say Topaz wasn't the smartest player this season.  Clearly.  For the first time in Big Brother history, somebody voted for the wrong person.  She seemed to think that somebody switched her vote, so they rolled the tape to prove that no, she did infact put the wrong key in the box.

The worst part is, it was the deciding vote.  Jillian won 4 to 3.  Jillian deserved it, but so did Gary, so it's really too bad that the win is kind of tainted.  In an interview, Jillian said that Big Brother ensured that the rules were followed the whole time.  Emmett was actually disqualified from 3 competitions and had an HOH stripped because he didn't follow rules, so why should this be any different?

Moral of the story is....

That was a lot of Big Brother talk.  What can I say, I love the show.  Big Brother US starts in June, so I only have a short wait until the next one.  Ryan's already excited.

The Story of Me

I was born in a small Ontario town in 1987.  The first child for my parents.  Two years later my sister came along.  I was loud and outgoing, always the centre of attention.  She was reserved.  Three years after that, we had a brother.  He was a ginger baby like me.  We enjoyed dressing him up, gelling his hair and making him dance to NSync.  Life was good.

We grew up.  I became reserved and my sister became loud and outgrowing.  We stopped being able to dress up our brother.  We got a dog.  We moved to a smaller town, but stayed at the same schools.  High school was ok.  Not too hard, not too easy.  I spent 3 months on an exchange in France and learnt only a small amount of French, but had a life experience that I will never have again.  I graduated and went to University where I bought my first house.  I lived with 15 people over 5 years.  There are some life lessons right there!  I broke up with one boyfriend, dated a few guys and began dating the love of my life.  I graduated and eventually got a job in my field.  I married that guy that I started dating in University and we bought a house together.  We live there with our cat and plan on growing old together as crazy cat people.  (Hopefully not.)

To be continued…

Terrible Reasons to Have a Baby (Or are they?)

Some days I think about having babies, and I have a few good reasons for wanting them.

1. I get a year off work - although I hear having a baby doesn't exactly make life easier, so it's not really a year long vacation
2. So I can buy cheap baby stuff off Kijiji - the other day (don't ask how I got on the baby section), I found a Bumbo for $10, all the What to Expect Books for $10, a Moby Wrap for $25, a Baby Bjorn for $25....I had a strong urge to go buy them so I was prepared.
3. I wouldn't have to buy tampons anymore.  Oh but wait a second, apparently babies are more expensive than tampons?
4. Because everyone is doing it.  But they aren't, I literally don't know anyone who is pregnant right now.
5. Because I'm old.  Ryan is older.
6. So that I don't have to clean out the litter box anymore.

However, listening to ladies in the change room after fitness talk about their pregnancies and say things like "I gained 70 pounds" and "I don't have any ab strength, they cut through all the muscle when I had my c-section"  Ick!  It sounds awful.

In the Garden

I spent some time gardening this weekend.  And by some time, I mean a very small amount of time.  I have the attention span of a knat when it comes to gardening.  I just hate it.  I want my gardens to look nice and I think that if I knew what to do with them, it wouldn't be so bad  But usually I end up pulling a lot of stuff out, leaving a lot of stuff in (because I'm not sure what it is and don't want to pull something out that's going to be pretty), and then giving up.

So that's where we got to this weekend.  I pulled out some weeds and tried to clean up all of the leaves and dead stuff from last year.  And then I watched The Real Housewives of Miami.  (Which I might not continue doing, that version of the show just doesn't do it for me.)

Um, that's my gardening post.  Short, just like my gardening experience.

Not my garden.....(source)
