It's Christmas Time in the City

So I thought I posted this last week and then I saw that it was still a draft.  Geesh.  Better late than never.

I woke up this morning with the line from Hakuna Matata in my head: "When I was a young wart hog".  But that's it.  I'm not singing the rest of the song, just that line, over and over.  And I was never a young wart hog!  So now I need to think of some other music to get that out of my head.  I fear it will stay all day though...

I have been listening to my Christmas play list on the way home from work for a couple weeks now.  Mostly, I listen to the same songs over and over, so I thought I would share them.

Where are you Christmas - Faith Hill
I know this isn't the happiest song, but I love it.  Plus I love Faith Hill.  Win-Win.

Carol Of The Bells - Trans Siberian Orchestra
One year our Synchronized Skating routine was to this song.  I'm surprised that after listening to it over and over again, I didn't get sick of it.  But I could throw this song on repeat and continuously listen to it.  It's just unbelievable.

Silver Bells - Lady Antebellum
This isn't an overly popular song, and I don't think I had heard it in years.  But my mother in law gave me the Lady Antebellum Christmas album and their version is great.  My grandma and grandpa have a player piano that we always played as kids.  There were basically only two songs that they had that we actually knew, and this was one of them.  So it always reminds me of when we were over there pretending that we were amazing piano players!

Jessica Simpson - Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)
I love the story that this song tells and the way that it is told.  It's just a really beautiful song.

Oh Holy Night - by anybody (well almost anybody)
As long as a strong singer is singing this song, it's phenomenal.  This version is acapella by Martina McBride.  This song can give me shivers if it's done properly.  It is always performed at my church's Christmas Eve service.  I don't know what I would do if they didn't do it one year.  (Knock on wood that it's not this year!)

Christmas music just gets me in the spirit for Christmas!  Does anybody else have any favourite Christmas songs?
